The big beach with Natura-protected dunes
The island’s largest beach (~2 km) on the northeast side, with sand, some pebble and shallow water. Its genuine highlight is a protected sand-dune system (Natura 2000).
Access by dirt track (~1 hr drive) plus a walk on the final stretch, or by a hiking route — the most effortful of the three. Exposed to the northerly (Meltemi) winds, often with waves.
