Beaches near me
Wherever you are in Greece, the beaches closest to you are rarely all in the same region — and on a windy day the nearest one is often the wrong one. CalmBeach finds the beaches physically nearest to you, ignoring administrative borders, and shows you how exposed each one is to the wind that is actually blowing.
Find beaches near me now →How it works
Tap the button above and allow location access. CalmBeach gathers the beaches within roughly 40 km of you — crossing region and island boundaries, so a beach 12 km away in the next prefecture still counts — and lists them nearest first, each with its own wind, wave and exposure reading for the day. If there are too few beaches that close, the radius widens until the list is useful.
Nearest is not always best
Two beaches ten minutes apart can have completely different days if one faces the wind and the other sits behind a headland. That is why the list is not only sorted by distance: each beach carries its own exposure reading, so you can trade five extra minutes of driving for a swim that is actually pleasant.
Your location stays on your device
The nearest-beach calculation runs entirely in your browser, against beach data already downloaded to it. Your coordinates are never sent to us, never stored, and are explicitly blocked from analytics. Close the tab and nothing about where you were remains.
No location access? Start from a city
If you would rather not share your position, pick the coast nearest to where you are staying and browse it directly — the same wind and wave information is on every beach page.
Frequently asked questions
- Do I have to allow location access?
- Only if you want the automatic list. Without it you can pick any region or island manually and get exactly the same per-beach conditions.
- Does it work outside the big islands?
- Yes. The search runs over the whole Greek coastline in CalmBeach, mainland included, and crosses region borders — it looks for the nearest beaches, not the nearest ones inside your current region.
- What if I am not in Greece?
- The dataset covers Greek beaches only, so from abroad the result will not be meaningful. Browse by island or region instead and plan ahead.
- Why is the nearest beach not first in my list?
- The list leads with distance but also carries each beach's exposure to the wind, so a slightly further beach that is out of the wind can be the better call on the day. Both numbers are shown, and the choice stays yours.
- How accurate is the distance?
- It is straight-line distance from your device position, not driving distance, so a bay across a headland can be closer on the map than by road. Use it to shortlist, then check the route.
